Back in June, I looked at using LogMeIn’s standard service to control a computer from my iPhone. While one little tweak enabled it, the solution was clunky at best and there was significant screen lag on my handset. The LogMeIn Ignition client might change that and it’s in beta right now. In fact, if you’re interested in remotely connecting to a PC or Mac, you can sign up for the beta and get an advance look.

LogMeIn expects to have the application available to the general public around the end of the year. Then again, if Apple deems LogMeIn Ignition to be functionally similar to a “Back to my Mac for iPhone” client they have planned, we might not see it hit the App Store. ;) Here’s the expected feature list:

Do you fancy a new phone? If you do and Motorola is your favorite brand, ever considered the new MOTOZINE ZN5 which is now available exclusively from T-Mobile? This is the first camera-centric cell phone from Motorola that was created in close collaboration with Kidak, bringing together a high quality handset and camera experience to help you capture those precious moments no matter where you are even without a dedicated digital camera at your disposal. More features and specifications of the MOTOZINE ZN5 will be discussed right after the jump.

The MOTOZINE ZN5 holds the distinction of being the first cell phone to combine Motorola’s ModeShift technology and KODAK Imaging Technology. With a dedicated simple share key, you will be able to instantly share captured images with family and friends no matter where you are via a variety of ways, including picture messaging, T-Mobile MyAlbum, Kodak Gallery and compatible Bluetooth enabled printers.

Those who pick up the MOTOZINE ZN5 will find that its image capture capability is pretty robust, and with a high-resolution display, you won’t have any trouble previewing all the images captured in full detail. Boasting one of the fastest click-to-click times available, all it takes to transform the phone to its camera function is to slide open its lens cover, unleashing the power of a 5 megapixel camera right smack in the palm of your hands. Features include a shutter button, flash and viewer, auto focus, a Xenon flash, and a microSD memory card slot (with a complimentary 1GB microSD memory card to get you started).

Of course, the MOTOZINE ZN5 isn’t just meant for capturing images, but it does the phone bit pretty well too with Motorola’s own patented CrystalTalk technology that offers crystal clear conversations even in the noisiest of environments. Connectivity features include GSM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and you will be able to remain connected to the rest of the world via services like SMS, MMS, IM and e-mail.

Attwifiiphone I’ve lost track of how many times it’s been reported that iPhones have free WiFi access at AT&T hotspots. However, I think this time it’s pretty official based on the text message that just magically appeared on my iPhone. The message is pretty clear and hitting the link of http://www.att.com/attwifi confirms it: free hotspot access at AT&T sites, which includes Starbucks locations.

There’s no mention of the iPod Touch and since AT&T doesn’t make a dime from the Touch, I have to wonder if it gets excluded from the deal.

Infinite bubble wrap popping toy
The problem with bubble wrap is that it, like daisies and lust, does not last forever. Mugen Pop Pop, from Bandai America, brings the Japanese “Endless Plastic Bubble Popping Toy” to our shores. As adults, dark spooky rooms are absolutely not supposed to be scary enough for a night light, it’s somewhere in the rule book for adults that I have yet to see.  However, if you feel the need to break the rules, you might enjoy the night lights sold by the Etsy seller Katsudesigns.   Even if you don’t have a fear of the dark, you might want to pick one up just so you don’t end up stubbing your toe when you attempt to stumble towards the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The cute little UFO is hand cut from an aluminum sheet then added to it is the colorful piece of plexiglass.  The plexiglass part can be purchased in three different colors, blue, red and green.  In addition to the UFO she also sells a rocket ship, jet fighter and a robot night light.  Surprisingly she actually has a few in stock of each.  Usually with Etsy products only one is in stock at a time.  You can pick one up for a piece.

High Tech Napkins

Who said a napkin can’t be more than a ‘throw-me-away’ piece of paper?! Know that its mission as a dirt/stains/drops remover has come to an end!

Last year we have witnessed several napkin designs, but none of them have so radically changed the concept of it as High Tech Napkin. Let me introduce it! The High Tech Napkin is designed by Avery Hollemanuses and uses e-ink and RF technology, which basically makes it a smart Napkin PC. It is designed for group collaborations, so corporate and fast-response enterprises can use it fully.

How it works?
The kit includes at least 2 pens and several Napkins. Each pen processes and displays information on the napkin which is much like e-ink paper. Then the pen transmits your hieroglyphics to the base station which indeed makes up a PC. So it is about two indispensable processes: 1) processed data is sent to the pen (long range RF); 2) and relaying of the image to the Napkin interface (short range RF).

The Napkin interface represents a multi-touch input e-paper surface. The base station is characterized by an OLED display that gives status information only. E-paper requires so little energy that it can be inductively powered. The pen wirelessly powers the Napkin interface when it comes within range. E-paper can retain its bright, full color image even without power. E-paper display has the property to retain image excluding the need to print.

How to use?
Whenever you get a fresh idea you can put it on a Napkin! It is better to use a fresh Napkin for each new idea. At a brainstorming meeting you may pass the ideas around, add to each other’s idea, thus work efficiently together. You can also connect Napkins to make a larger interface. Portable unit holds 2 pens and several rolled Napkins.

It is enough to sign your name to load your personal settings, preferences, bookmarks, etc. Pens can log who creates an idea so that credit can be given later. Pens come with various colors to prevent confusion.

Advantages:

  • The Napkin PC replaces printers
  • It wastes no paper
  • The only part you’ll need to replace (after several years of intensive use) is the Napkin interface
  • It has no battery. It is provided with a thin single layer flexible circuit board with an inductive power circuit
  • Easy to recycle. Only the plastic and circuit layers are recycled being peeled apart and melted down separately. There are no hazardous elements to deal with

Dimensions:
1. Napkin interface: 180×180 mm (2 mm thick);
2. Pen Stylus: 140 mm
